The ReGrowth Project

- To Plant a Garden is to Believe in Tomorrow -

Food for the Future

Our most crucial objective is to nurture the farmers of tomorrow, and ignite the same passion for Agriculture and Conservation Science that we have. Because it is through our youth that we will re-establish our relationship with our natural world. Through community involvement, we hope to introduce kids (and adults) to the numerous benefits of gardening, and growing your own food.

Bringing Fresh to the People

Fresh, hearty, accessible food is the backbone of human prosperity. We aim to make sustainable food gardens that are accessible to all independent growers, and vegetable enthusiasts alike. Communities deserve to subvert the attainability of unhealthy fast food, in favor of homegrown, homecooked meals.

Harvesting our Happiness

Fresh air. Sunshine. Clean Water. Cool dirt. Crisp Vegetables. Gardening is a great promoter of health and happiness that is missing in many of our indoor-directed styles of living.

Soil: Our Foundation

Many wouldn't spare a second thought to dirt. When your beloved pet happily trots in with their freshly muddied paws, or when your brand new outfit falls victim to every dirt stain possible, it's hard to remember just how important this medium really is. Or that it is one of the most intricate and crucial biospheres we could ever hope to save.

Okay But...Whats the Problem?

Many things! But one of the primary issues is our lack of knowledge and care for soil structure. We have nothing without the foundation of soil. So here's where the problem starts:

Overtilling of crop spaces leads to intense breakdowns of soil structure.

Lack of quality soil leads to poor water retention. This runoff water removes needed nutrients from the plants.

The next solution? Applying synthetic fertilizers, herbicides,  insecticides, fungicides, Etc.

The overbearing presence of synthetic chemicals accelerates human health issues, financial damage, and loss of integral ecosystems.

Then what is the next step?

"Most Revolutions begin around a table" -Stanley Tucci, "Searching for Italy"

Growing from this state of farming is a complex issue that demands solutions from all angles. It is a dream to inspire large scale farmers to take no-till farming into consideration, but the time and money that goes into a major upheaval like this is not justifiable to many people who already struggle to afford basic comfort. A revolution like this must start from the ground (pun), and be nurtured by the power of community.

Below is a compilation of links that lead to an array of first steps we can take at the community level. This includes neighborhood gardens, shopping local, solar-agricultural projects, and the inspiration of civil-evolution (Civilution).

A small step taken by many people has more power than a large step taken by one.

Future success starts with present education.
